Stumpp & Bond, LLP primarily
engages in a commercial litigation practice, and has developed a particular
expertise in matters involving commodity futures, securities, options, and
derivatives. The partners have more than 40 years of combined experience in
trials and appeals before all relevant federal and state courts, as well as
arbitration forums and administrative agencies -- and have represented clients in
more than 100 investment, employment, and commercial proceedings, and more than
100 regulatory investigations and proceedings.
The firm successfully represented
the petitioners before the United States Supreme Court in Dunn v. CFTC ,
519 U.S. 465 (1997), reversing 58 F.3d 50 (2d Cir. 1995), and unanimously
holding that the Commodity Futures Trading Commission lacks jurisdiction over
off-exchange foreign currency options (subsequently modified by enactment of
the Commodity Futures
Modernization Act of 2000).
